Adding a new web site but no handler mapping for Ape

26 Mar 2015, 13:11

We have web servers that have Helicon Ape on them and proxy our sites fine. I am adding a new, separate website and want to invoke Ape on this site. I do show the Helicon module in the modules section for the new site, however, when trying to add it as a managed handler Ape is not a in the dropdown list to add it. Please advise necessary or missing steps I may need to accomplish this. THANKS!

Hello,

Could you clarify what operating system you are using.

If it is win2003, please check out this article:

My apologies....I am on a windows 2008 r2 server with IIS 7.5. I will look at the reference you suggested, please let me know if it is appropriate for 2008 server, if known. Thanks

That didn't shed a lot of light on it....what I ended up doing and it seemed to work was, I took the handler mapping line from the web.config for Ape from one of my previously configured Ape sites and manually added it to the new site I am trying to configure, after backing up the web.config file first, of course. This seemed to have fixed the issue with Ape handler not being in the Handler Mappings for this new site. Still having issues with it working but it may be the SiteMinder install at this point....
