Phalanger: feature request

26 Nov 2012, 08:24

Hi,

Would be nice to see http://phalanger.codeplex.com/ this on Zoo... Quite awsome concept for PHP but not easy to get working!

Also for Railo. I see only jetty edition. would be nice to see Tomcat edition.

Missing in Java servers RESIN too.

Also over PHP setup is this including wincache? As wincache is a serious boost for performance.

PHP Software intersting to include as not included withing M$ plateform: OPENX! & PHPMYADMIN! just to name few.

Great work on Cold fusion Frameworks & apps guys.

Also noticed many informations pages return "Sorry file cannot be found" on heliconwebsite like:

http://www.helicontech.com/zoo/usage/python-tornado.htm

to name few.

Hello.

Thank you for your feedback!

1. About phalanger - will see if it is possible at all.
2. About Tomcat and Resin. I don't understand why it makes any difference on which technology it runs behind the scene. Helicon Zoo is designed as a solution to run applications (including Java) on IIS, so you don't have to deal with backend technology directly.
3. Helicon Zoo uses same PHP backend engine as Microsoft FastCGI, so Wincache is also applicable here.
4. PhpMyAdmin will be available soon. As for OPENX cna you please provide a link?
5. Thank you for information. We will fix missing links asap.

Hi,

1. OK

2. Difference over Tomcat/Jetty is performance & stability. Each container don't offer same feature/ performance. Resin have Caucho that is PHP compiled under Java would be neat to see! Notice Railo express is on jetty but production setup is using tomcat same for cold fusion 10 that dropped Jrun for Tomcat.

3. would be nice to see it included in distribution as it offer a huger booster otherwiser means we can indeed add it manually.

4. http://www.openx.com/

http://www.phpmyadmin.net/home_page/index.php

Also Php my admin offer another edition for postgres too.

Also was wondering MS didn't offer any webmail on it's plateform while there is a lot very solid projects like roundcube/ Atmail / squirrelmail to name a few.

Hmail too can be installed here thru web plateform http://www.hmailserver.com/ can be userfull as SMTP/ POP3 server & once combined with a webmail...

There is a lot of intersting projets in the wild that could be plugged in.

You want more feature requests? ;-)

2. Performance and stability where the first things to consider when we choose Jetty. Jetty is known to be fastest and lightest servlet container for Java, that powers Google App Engine and many other performance critical web resources. Adding here better plugability and configurability and I am really happy with our choice of Jetty. Tomcat and Resin are more popular for only historical reasons and non-related features.
3. WinCache is included into PHP Hosting Package, as well as all other PHP extensions and modules available from WebPI to build complete hosting environment.

Yes, sure we want feature requests. We add applications to Zoo repository constantly. All feature requests we add to the list for future consideration. Not all applications can be added to repository. Some does not provide quiet installations, some are not compatible with environment. But all customer requests for application are put to a list for future investigation.
We appreciate you feedback and will be happy to have more, so don't hesitate to post us.

2. Doubt they will be available in nearest future. Tomcat and Resin are not that good when it comes to plugging them in so implementing this requires significant efforts (if possible at all).

Filezilla, OK.
