Simple user with a very basic question

21 Jun 2015, 20:10

Hi,
I have been hosting my websites on a Windows server running Apache+myql and php but now i am moving over to
a New server that is running Windows server 2012 With IIS and Plesk, so need do solve this rewrite issue.

I installed the Helicon Ape, and will soon install Plesk 12 and import my sites.
Do i need to do anything spesific when it comes to Helicon Ape or is it just installa and forget ?

I know next to nothing regarding coding, so need to know how much work is involved in getting this to work correctly ?
Does the software aumaticly figure out my .htaccess file and does the rest itself or do i have to do some techy stuff ??

Thanks, hope to buy the license..but need to get some more info regarding this.
And is there any tutorials out there about this software, some more tutorials (video examples) would really help
New users like me and also increase sales.

Thank you and hope someone here can answer these questions

Wish you all a great day

With kind regards
Naimy

Here is the .htaccess file from one of my sites, that was running fine on apache.
Could one of you gents have a quick look at it, would this work fine on the new server running Helicon Ape?

Thank you

Hello Naimy,

Your .htaccess should work as is with Helicon Ape. No modifications seem to be necessary.
Anyway you need to check it a bit. In case of any issues, please address us.

Here is the manual for Helicon Ape product: http://www.helicontech.com/ape/doc/overview.htm

And here is our blog with various articles: http://www.helicontech.com/articles/
